Around 3:15 Drew's fever got up to 103.2 (orally), and he still had a good hour before he could have more motrin. I could tell he was getting hot when I saw him curled up on the couch again. I asked him if he wasn't feeling good and he said "I'm just sick all day." Poor little guy.
When we got to the doctor I waited until they got a temp and then gave him motrin in the office. He was asleep on me again and I was so hot! The doctor checked his lungs, ears, throat, and everything was clear. His sats were normal. They did a quick urine test which came back clean, but they sent it to the lab anyway. They also did a blood culture and CBC, just in case. What we're guessing is that he just has a summer virus and he will have a temp for 2-3 days and then get better. It's a bummer we can't do much to make him feel better, but it's good that it's not respiratory. The doctor said if it is what we think it is, he should still be able to have surgery as scheduled. That is a blessing!
So we're just praying that we can keep him comfortable and that this virus works it's way out of his system very quickly.
