Please Pray--He's back in the OR

We waited an hour and went to the CVICU to see Drew. He wasn't back yet. They said to come back in twenty minutes. We waited another LONG twenty minutes and he still wasn't back. The intensivist said Drew was having complications and he was back in the OR. Dr. Hanley was with him and that's all the information he had.

About fifteen minutes later the Dr. came back and said Drew is having bleeding complications. They have opened him up again and are working to stop the bleeding. It could be an hour or two before he comes back out.

These kinds of ups and downs are the hardest to take. We thought we were about to see our boy safe and in the ICU and got very unpleasant news instead. Please pray for the doctors to stop the bleeding and for Drew to come out of surgery safely. Please pray for our strength, as it is wavering.

Oh my gosh...what a bummer. Just remember, a little blurp on the radar of his long life. You JUST posted this, and I'm home if you want to talk. I'll be checking in ALL THE TIME!! Stay strong!

We are praying!!! I pray that God will just wrap his loving arms around you and Dan right now and give you peace. I pray that he will heal Drew and the bleeding will stop.

Trust in him! "Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, neither be not dismayed: for the lord thy God is with "you" wherever thou goest."

We are only a call away if you need us.

Love,
Jen

Praying here. Don't know what to say except that I hope this is just a temporary setback. I know how scary the ups and downs of the OR can be, I'm so sorry that it's not going as smoothly as we all had hoped.

He is one tough cookie.

Jane.

Loving you!

I'm praying for the bleed to stop and peace over you all. Drew is a fighter and will come out of the OR just fine.

I hope, like everyone else, that this is just a little roadbump and you'll be able to see Drew soon.

Just wanted to add:

For what it's worth, during Ramona's second surgery they kept her in the OR for TWO HOURS extra, juts trying to control bleeding. She came home 5 days later...

And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us. Romans 5:3-5

Father, we pray for your glory to be shown in a mightly way in this family's life right now. You knit Drew together in the beginning. Be his heavenly Surgeon now and knit him together once again. Amen
