Fun Fall Weekend Part 2

OK, got the flu shots out of the way!

Back to our weekend. Friday night Dan's mom came to visit for the weekend. Saturday morning she took the kids to go visit Uncle Scott at school in Davis, which left us some free time before we had to leave for our friends, Melanie and Jason's, wedding. So we went to lunch and did some last minute shopping before the wedding. Then we got all dressed up and headed up to Amador, where we stopped to pick up our wine from our wine club. We did a little tasting too, and then drove to Placerville to David Girard winery.

The wedding location was beautiful, but the recent change in the weather meant it was a little chilly (actually pretty darn cold). I was thankful that I was able to buy a warm shawl to match my dress that morning.

Here's a picture of the bride and groom. Unfortunately I didn't get any with both of them facing the camera.

We had so much fun! But I did learn my lesson about buying shoes that fit, not shoes that match your dress perfectly. I have these awesome shoes, but they didn't have my size when I bought them, so I just got them a size bigger and put those little pads in the back, thinking that they would work fine. Well, they don't. I can barely walk in them, and they have a pointy heel that kept sinking into the soft grass. One time I literally got stuck and had to sit down and pull my shoe out of the ground! Needless to say, Dan was not impressed with choice of shoe, especially when I left my purse at the ceremony site and couldn't walk back down the hill to get it...so he had to! I was able to get my dance on though, I think because you don't have to move your feet a whole lot when you're dancing.

Sunday morning, it was back to our parenting responsibilities and we got up and got everyone off to church. I had a meeting after church, then came home and made a yummy dinner of turkey meatloaf and roasted potatoes. We had some nice quiet family time, then baths, and bedtime. Kate came over and we watched Amazing Race before I fell asleep on the couch. The perfect end to a fun weekend!

That looked really pretty. What are those little headband things for? Loved your dress. Jen's was really pretty too; it looks like ombre in the pic. AND i'm in an update, yay! It was a delightful end to my weekend too, and i have no hard feelings toward your sleepy self; dan and i just say "oh, andrea." :-P

What a fun weekend! Sounds like the wedding was a blast, minus the shoe issue. :) I'm glad you guys got some couple time and friend time and were able to end the weekend with family time! Perfect!

Hope you're having a great week...xoxoxo
