I know, it's been a long time since I've posted. There has been a lot going on, but I just haven't been motivated to get to the computer and write about it. I will try to catch up in the next few days. But, today was Drew's first T-ball practice and it must be documented!
Drew is playing for the Scrappers. We have practices three times a week until games start at the end of March. We've purchased a tee, t-balls, a bat, a glove, cleats and a cup. Which is hilarious. He's never worn one before and was quite unsure about it. He kept adjusting it and even said he didn't want anyone to see it before we left for practice. I assured him that all the boys would be wearing them and it was just to protect him in case the ball hit him there.
Practice was super cute! They started off with some stretching, arm circles and jumping jacks. I love when Drew does jumping jacks. He has all the components of jumping jacks: jumping, feet apart, clapping at the top, but can't really coordinate the whole movement. It makes me laugh every time he does them!
They practiced catching and throwing, and fielding ground balls. Then it was on to the batting! Each kid takes a turn at the tee and the others stand around the infield ready to collect the balls. When a ball came to Drew, he did a great job stopping it and then throwing it to the coach. But the best part was when he shouted into the stands: "Dad! The ball didn't hit my cup!"
He did a great job at bat and when practice was over he was tired. We went out to dinner as a family to celebrate. I am really looking forward to T-ball and so is Drew!

So much fun!! Drew has great aim, too. I'm so glad he enjoyed himself, and the cup comment made me laugh. :)
By the way, the weather looks fantastic. Could you maybe send a little of that our way? It was -3 degrees on my drive into work this morning. Ug.
Oh so cute!
Ok so I read this blog last night and I was laughing so hard about the cup comment and I woke up this morning laughing about it so I had to post and say thank you for the giggle two days in a row!!

That is too cute! I love that he was so worried about the cup, and then shouted out to his dad!! Kids are awesome!
So cute! I think the coach was worried he'd get hit by the bat :)
He is such a big kid!! When did our babies grow up? :(
Yay Drew- he's gonna love T-Ball! Go Scrappers! :)
I'm so proud of him!
He is a natural, great swing, great fielder, and a hell of a sense of humor.....Love, UT & AL
